According to the rumor mill at radioreference.com GRE, the maker of Radio
Shack scanners, has stopped making scanners. There is nothing official
from GRE but they have fired most GRE US personnel and a ham radio seller
has posted an article stating that GRE has stopped making scanners.

If it is true then Uniden will have a monopoly on the scanner market and
prices will certainly rise.
