This Page may help you http://www.scanmanitoba.com/index.html
"TooManyRadios" wrote in message ... Going up to visit Friendly Manitoba for a few days & want to bring the scanners. A few questions: 1) Are handheld scanners legal in Manitoba? 2) Are scanners in vehicles legal in Manitoba? 3) If the answer to #2 is 'no', does holding a valid U.S. amateur radio license provide a legal exemption? (As is the case in most U.S. states with mobile scanner restrictions.) 4) If legal, do scanners arouse suspicion among border guards and create crossing hassles? (In other words, is it okay to have them out in the open, or would it be better if they were packed away when crossing?) 5) What frequencies are used for police/fire/EMS, etc? Same allocations as here in the U.S., or different? Thanks in advance! |
