looking to get a handheld that can cover amatuer bands and aircraft
(50,108,144,420mhz). not interested in trunking, not interested in small size. 50 channels should do as I have a 30channel base I am using now. anyone have some suggestions? -- Tater President of MARS Club www.treece.org/mars.htm KC9ESF NAR #79654 L1 AMA #747769 EAA #703312 remove spam spelled backwards to reply |

tater schuld ...
^ handheld that can cover amatuer bands and aircraft ^ (50,108,144,420mhz). ... 50 channels .... Most scanners have that plus much more. To get just that you'd probably have to go back to a model designed prior to 1990. If that's all you want, just go for the cheapest you can find. But if you want SSB on the ham bands you may need to look at the newer models from Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood, etc., almost anyone but Radio Shack (Realistic). Frank |
