Hi,
Have a 780 Question concerning step sizes. Let's say I have a bank I would like to scan that has frequencies preloaded in it for which a 25 KHz step size is probably appropriate. These might be, e.g., xxx.5000 xxx.2500 etc. Now, if I add one or two freq's in this bank for which a 7.5 KHz step would seem right, e.g. xxx.9875, what happens ? a. If I leave all the steps at 25 KHz, does it just skip over this xxx.9875 ? b. Does the radio round it to something commensurate with the 25 KHz steps set for all the freq's in the bank (which I guess would mean passing over this freq. ?) ? c. BTW: where does the stepping increment start from? Is it always xxx.0000 ? Thanks, Bob |

The bc780xlt doesn't program step sizes by bank, it is done by frequency. a. If I leave all the steps at 25 KHz, does it just skip over this xxx.9875 ? Depends on the frequency range, different ranges have different default step size. If the frequency entered doesn't fit within the specified step size progression it will change to the closest frquency. b. Does the radio round it to something commensurate with the 25 KHz steps set for all the freq's in the bank (which I guess would mean passing over this freq. ?) ? See above. If you forced all of the channels to 25k, it's time to go back and reread the manual. c. BTW: where does the stepping increment start from? Is it always xxx.0000 ?
