Default Looking for some "Maps" Southern California

Does anyone know where/how I can get some county maps showing where the
fire stations are for LA, SB, Riverside, SD and maybe Imperil?

Burr ...

A lot of stores sell county and city maps. I've seen them in K-Mart, Circle
K, Target, Wal-Mart, and many others. Almost every county and city map I've
seen show locations of fire stations, police stations, sheriff offices,
libraries, and etc. But they don't normally identify any further than that;
they don't indicate, for example, "county fire station #31", just "fire
station".

I would think they would be on the road map for each city. Thats how it
is here anyway.

3 suggestions:
Find the name of the County Fire Chief (Should be on the County's web page)
for each county and write to him personally and ask if he knows where you can get a
map.

Write to the President of each County's Board of Supervisors and ask if they
have such a map that is available to the public.

Contact the O.E.S.(Office of Emergency Services) in Sacramento to see if they
have maps available.

Best,
Rich

I think the Thomas Map books show all of the fire stations. Then you can
go to various websites to get the station numbers. (One good website is
freqofnature.com - look for Fire Station Locater - also do a google
search for Southern California Fire - there is another good website out
there that lists all the fire stations in all the south Calif counties.)
If you cant find it, drop me a note.

Burr;

Is there any information on the map legend
to indicate who publishes the fire map you already have?
If you would like on line topo maps try

http://www.maptech.com

I realize lots of folks do not want or need the in depth
detail of a topo map, however they sometimes have the
location of fire stations on them.

And here's another source of maps

http://www.maptown.com/maldivesmaps.html

this site has links to other map resources.

If go to www.rvcfire.org they have a listing of all the stations and
addresses for them. If you live in riv co. you can go to one of the
county fire stations and they have light blue pamphlet with the info.
on it including a small map of the county with the station numbers on
it. hope this helps for Riverside at least.
