Can someone tell me which one of the NOAA low orbiting satellites are
still active. I use to receive the sats and was possibly interested in investing in some new equipment but wanted what was going on. Are they dead or still in use? Thanks and 73's Chuck W0CBF |

GOES are synchronous sats. NOAA-XX are LEO (Low Earth Orbit). The NOAA series are easier to copy as they operate in 13X megacycles where the GOES birds are around 16XX something and need a fixed dish and a downconverter. Not practical for us buried in the woods as we don't see much of the sky, but we get the APT sats fine.
