Two really important factors involved: 1) where you and your rig are in
relation to where AF1 is, and 2) what frequencies you were monitoring. pcox Jim Sewell & Debbie Bone wrote: Listened all evening, but heard nothing, what did I do wrong ? |

FM, NFM, or WFM is not used by ATC and I bet it never will be used for ATC comms in our life time.... MilSat comms however are mostly FM. And the Orderwire network is WFM. However your best bet of hearing the callsign "Airforce One" will be on the standard ATC freqs for your area. And usually it will be the VHF, not the UHF military, ATC freqs. If you go to: http://www.milaircomms.com/audio_library.html and scroll down about 1/2 way you'll see where you can listen to some AF1 comms I had snagged during one of its visits to Florida. WFM is normally used for commercial FM broadcasts.
AM is used for Aircraft Freqs except long range USB is used on the HF bands. .. "DARKMAN" wrote in message ... air force one is on WFM not FM maybe that is way you did not here them?
