Default anyone know about a "12-code" instead of a "10-code"?

Hello and thanks for reading this,

somewhile back I heard of a "12-code" and was wondering if this is true or
false information?

Thanks in advance for any info on the subject!

NYC Transit uses a 12-code: http://www.kb2ytf.com/nytrans_info.htm

Check the bottom of the page.

Because it was so easily confused with the 10-code, most have replaced the
old 12-codes with the new "signal" calls.

I don't know about Eastern Canada but certain jurisdictions in the NW
USA and Canada use 12 codes. Here is the State of Oregon 12 code used
by State Police & Government and certain cities and counties.
