I noticed (finally) that the Pro-95 has global and channel
attenuation. I followed the instructions in the manual and turned off global attenuation. Now during scan the ATT- appears on line four of the display. Was global attenuation on by default? Did I do myself a favor or not? Thanks, Andy "Not a rocket surgeon/brain scientist" B |

Did I do myself a favor or not? __ When you put on 'Global ATT' you simply apply ATT 'on/off' to ALL channels, which disregards INDIVIDUAL channel ATT assignments you may have had. If your pro-95 shows ATT- on line 4, ATT is OFF on all channels. If you now press ATT, it will display ATTon, and ATT applies to ALL channels. I live about 100 feet away from several cell towers, so I have to have ATT on on most 800MHz trunking and non-trunking channels, otherwise I get a strong buzz-like interference. Of course there are a few other frequencies that need the ATT applied as well. When I take the scanner in my car, I activate Global ATT, which removes all ATT assignments to various channels. -Ron |
