You can't get mobiles coz they're digital.
You can only get Police pr in a couple of counties now and soon not at all - they will all be digital too. Air, marine, some police vhf, fire, ambulance and pmr can all be received on a pretty basic scanner. Don't spend £500 - £50 and some time on ebay should do the trick for your needs. A decent uniden, gec or yup will be ideal. If ebay scares you then go to either a web shop (nevada etc) or Maplin and get a gec or bearcat - try to stay under £100 new, should be possible. Or theres always the little Maycom AR108 - about £70 for a new machine that is designed for air band. "Thelonegunmen" wrote in message om...
