WELL... WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE ANYWAY? I HAVE A SIMILIER SCANNER THAT DOES

: Have this from the bit vault: Look in your service manual for J4 which comes off the control(CPU) board. Pin 5 on the ribbon cable is clearly marked "BEEP". Remove the ribbon cable from J4 and bend out the wire that goes to Pin 5. Bingo, beep gone. Or better yet,install a switch like I did. You'll miss that beep at times,like when entering a bunch of freqs. The beep is a confromation that the key was indeed pressed. |
