Default PRO-2026 Can I silence the keypress beeps?

Is there a way to eliminate the beeping that is accompanied with every
button press on the scanner?

OK, I should have known better...
The question is: What is the procedure for silencing the beeps when a
button on the PRO02026 is pressed?

Have this from the bit vault:

Look in your service manual for J4 which comes off the control(CPU)
board.

Pin 5 on the ribbon cable is clearly marked "BEEP". Remove the
ribbon cable from J4 and bend out the wire that goes to Pin 5.
Bingo, beep gone.

Or better yet, install a switch like I did.
You'll miss that beep at times, like when entering a bunch of freqs.
The beep is a confromation that the key was indeed pressed.
