Can anyone let me know how the AOR ar-2002 performs as I have the chance of
one in mint condition regards all PAUL......

what justifies the word Junk I only want it for acars reception in the
airband area so what justifies your opinion rgrds PAUL....

The 2002 is not junk. It is a decent 20 channel radio although typcially
over priced. If your primary interest is ACARS then it should do fine.
AOR's of that era tend to be very sensitive and if you are in a high signal
area like a city they are prone to interference.

I think it would serve you well for ACARS. Universal sells a nice airband
filter. It fits between your antenna and radio and does a great job of
filtering out all non Civil airband signals. I found that it did a great
job of increasing my ACARS captures and the quality of the transmissions.
