Default Are Scanners Illegal in Cars?

I guess it may vary state to state...anyone know about ohio?

It varies from state to state, and enforcement varies from locality
to locality.

Some states have 'exemptions' that may include HAMs, or even
anyone with a 'valid' reason.

And enforcement in some states even tries to set their own standard...

Get LOCAL advice before you procede. Not just the letter of the
law, but the 'real story' about what is going on with regard to enforcement
and/or harassment.

Yeah, but if you become a familiar face to law enforcement at car
accidents, shootings and fires, that may change. use discrection.=A0

not in Australia they aren't-niether is full 0-whatever gigs, no blocked
freqs!!!

Depends what state or country you are in. Michigan allows if you have
permit from State Police or are a licensed amateur radio operator (Ham).
