Default RS Pro-94

I see that the Pro-94 trunk scanner is on sale at RS for $120. So far I've
gone to 3 different RS stores and have only found the older (no PC/IF)
models. I got a feeling that the 'sale' price is an effort to shed the
inventory of the older models. Going to try a couple of other stores on
Monday, or wait for the Pro-95 to go on sale again, hopefully.
Anyone seeing the newest iteration of the Pro-94 in the stores? What about
those ordered online? Thanks.

Jim - I'm fortunate enough that my local Ham Radio store
does double duty as a Radio Shack, hence the store is
about 4x the size of a regular Shack and most the employees
are Hams.

I just called the owner (Mark, KB0MOF) and asked him
- he said they are *not* restricting the sale to only early models.

They have a website at:

The 95 is $199 with a $50 instant coupon printed from the web ($149
out the door)..

Me too. FYI, went to Radio Shack in Sunnyvale, CA on
Sunnyvale-Saratoga road. Told clerk I didn't have printer so I
couldn't print out the $50 coupon. I asked if he could honor the
price. He said "No way! I'd get fired!" I asked if I could talk to a
manager or anyone who may be able to approve it. He said "The manager
couldn't approve it either." (Anyone who's spent any time in Cust.
Service knows you NEVER say that - tell the person you will get the
manager). So I said Thanks and left. Went a few miles up the street to
the Mountain View (El Camino / San Antonio) RS, and the Asst. Manager,
Aaron, happily printed it and gave me the sale price.

Some employees don't know where their paycheck comes from.

The Pro95 is on sale for 199.99 and with the in-store downloadable coupon is
149.99. I just purchased that scanner, downloaded software for the
alphatagging and trunking control -- and lovin' it!

I also saw the coupon and along with my $25 gift certificate to a local mall
with a RS store, got that PRO-95 for $125! Very pleased and that WIN95
software is pretty good. I am able to use my Yaesu cloning cable (FT-50) and
the stereo to mono adapter with no problem. Had it scanning the local PD and
FD (Motorola II) in 5 minutes. Very impressed.
