Hey there,
I've been a faithful user of my BC200xlt for a very long time now. Every once in a while the battery needs replacing. I've had to have the antenna connector repaired once and one of the battery terminals replaced. Otherwise, the radio works like a charm. I've never needed a trunking capable radio. One thing I have no experience with is digital scanning. Is there anything in the San Francisco Bay Area to make a compelling case to buy a new scanner? Thanks! Charlie |

Well, I don't have a trunked scanner either per se, I have a trunked two-way radio. Unfortunately, I haven't had it reprogrammed with AlCo's new talkgroups, so I don't get Fremont Fire among others. One of these days... So without trunking, you're missing out on Alameda County, some of Santa Clara County, most of San Francisco. And I can't recall what's digital trunked, I believe some North - Marin, etc. Evan -- To reply, remove TheObvious from my e-mail address. |

Depends what side of the Bay you're on. San Francisco and Oakland use trunking, but you probably knew that. San Mateo County S/O is using digital trunking now and is trying to get the rest of the county's agencies to buy in. |
