Default Pro-83 question

I bought a new Pro-83, and after a few hours of charging, the "chrge" indicator
on the LCD display goes blank. The owner's manual does not indicate whether the
"chrge" readout goes blank after the unit is fully charged. I am wondering if
something is wrong. Does anyone else have a Pro-83 that does this? I am using
Radio Shack high-capacity AA's and the Radio Shack 6v 300ma charger that is
recommended on their website.
