Was recently reading through the Alinco DJ-X2000 manual. In the beginning of the
manual under 'features', it says the X2000 has a 160 minute recording time. Later in
the manual it makes reference to the recording time being only 160 seconds. Anyone
know, is it minutes or seconds? Thanks.

160 seconds is more like it. Universal-Radio states that it is 2.5 minutes,
which would be 150 seconds.

Thanks Bill. You'd think in a day where we can buy $49 digital pocket records that
can record for 2 or 3 hours (or more), that the X2000 would be at least 160 minutes.
Something of a disappointment ... but very nice unit nevertheless.

I think that feature was intended to be more like instant reply, if you
missed a sentence, or small bit of information. You're right though, a
nice, long-play, digital recorder would be a great feature in a
scanner/receiver.

I think we could be on to something here Bill. Don't be surprised if we start seeing
new scanners come out in the near future which have the capability to record several
hours of digital audio. It really WOULD be a tremendously helpful feature. When I
want to record transmissions, I end up connecting the ear jack to my pocket digital
recorder anyway

Check out the Icom R-20 ...it can record 4 hours of audio. Looks like a
