My sw must be mis-configured or something because I can't make anything out
at all (see my earlier posts), in any case, I still don't get it --- why
does everyone consider this (somewhat questionable IMO) "unjacking"
activity, whatever the hell it is, to be so outrageously funny???

Listen to the clip closer. You'll hear them mention about unjacking the
truck.

Un-Jack-off a truck? I didn't even know there was such a thing as
"Un-Jacking", never mind knowing if it (whatver IT is) could be done to a
truck or not.
I don't know what the hell's going on with this newsgroup, but boy, I'll
tell ya --- I'm starting to wonder.

Might help to tell us your system configuration - computer, operating
system, etc.

Police officer to dispatch:
"If you all aren't busy, I'm gonna need some 84 (assistance?) I've got
a jack-knifed trailer, and we're gonna have to block off some lanes to
get it un-jacked off... uhh .. un... jackknifed"
laughter
"Do you need another hand?"

Listen again. After he said the part "jack-off" , he realized what
that sounded like, started stuttering and tried to correct it.

Ahhh, OK --- the lightbulb of understanding comes on ...
It's interesting though, the cops response to his own unintended
innuendo --- you would think that he too would have found it laughable, not
something to get all nervous and stammer about. Maybe it was a Freudian
slip, indicating that he's involved in some kind of bizarre sexual
role-playing where he dresses up like a truck.
