Hi All: I have an old BC200XLT. Had it for about 12 years. I have
replaced the batteries a few times over the years, some from Uniden and others from adapting Radio Shack NiCads. I seem to have misplaced my car charger. I do have a Radioshack variable voltgage that fits but the highest voltage is 6 V. If I try charging with that, will it damage the batteries? I do have the AC charger so I can always charge indoors. Just wondering about the car charger. By the way, this is a great scanner. It still picks up occasional cell phones, but I thought that due to digital and encryption that would no longer be possible. as long as the plug polarity is correct no damage,
however 6v might not be enough volts to make it work/charge as well. try it. mike "msterspy" wrote in message ... Hi All: I have an old BC200XLT. Had it for about 12 years.
