Data cables for scanners

Data cables for scanners

Anyone know what the deal is with data cables for Icom Yaesu and Alinco
scanners? Are they all the same? I have models from all three companies and
only want to buy one cable. If they are all the same would the newer USB
versions work for all of them to or are they software dependant?
