I'm selling for a friend, the following:
Radio Shack PRO-2006, with the following Bill Cheek Mods, and their original cost: 003D: Speed - 16MHz $47.00 004: Squelch $28.00 011: MOV Transient Protection $40.00 044: Data Squelch $49.95 029: Extended Delay $100.00 026B: LED S-Meter w/Mod #25 $85.00 027: LED Center Tune Meter $85.00 This radio has sixteen LED's on the front panel, 3-red, 4-yellow, 8-green, and 1-orange! It also has five toggle switches on the back, and an external jack for an analog S-Meter! The radio is in clean, excellent working, and cosmetic condition! However, no box, no antenna (easily replaced), and no manual (PDF copy supplied). Blue backlight on display is working fine! He's asking $275.00 + shipping. If you've been looking for a PRO-2006, this one is a classic! Bill Crocker |

Just curious. I did those mods myself and doubt if they cost $5 each. Of course, if your adding the hourly cost of a union journeyman electrician installing the circuit, maybe that would explain it. The 2006 was/is a great scanner, and your price seems reasonable I guess. No need to wildly exagerate the costs of the mods. |

I'm not exaggerating anything. I'm just pointing out what the mods,
performed by Bill Cheek, originally cost. I have the original receipt also. Considering this radio, has over $400.00 worth of modifications, by Bill Cheek's pricing, and that the radio itself cost around $300.00 at the time, I think $275.00 is a fair asking price. We've all seen these radios without any modifications go for much more than that, at times. Not everyone is capable of doing this type of work. The disassembly of the front panel, and the precision locating, and drilling for the LED's is a real challenge in itself. Someone who is a collector, or who appreciates/wants the modifications this radio has, would be happy to get it. It is very clean, and in excellent working condition. Bill Crocker I don't disagree that the asking price is fair. I've performed most of the same mods, and more, and know the parts and labor involved. If your considering labor charges, then theres no good way to put a rice on that. If its just parts then the costs of the mods is nowhere near what you said. "T-bone" wrote in message .130...
