Default Uniden BC296D questions

I just acquired a Uniden BC296D scanner from Grove Enterprises. The question
ponders me about if the batteries go dead, would it erase all the
frequencies programmed into the scanner? Does it have a volatile memory? The
instruction manual does not say anything about it. Thanks.

I thought it would hold memory indefinitely. Doesn't it use flash?

For the firmware, not for the channel, etc., programming.

The Uniden BC296D has nonvolatile memory, meaning that your frequencies,
talk groups, and other programmed information is stored indefinitely, even
if the battery is totally dead, or removed from the scanner.
