I purchased a Pro-89 off eBay and downloaded the software to program the
scanner with my PC. However, I do not have the scanner-PC cable -- as I recall, the cable has a DB-9 serial connector on one end and a two-connector 3.5mm plug on the other. Does anyone have one that you would sell, or, can anyone point me to a schematic so I can build my own? I'm trying to find a schematic through Google without much luck. Thanks. |

I had one of scanner-PC cables, lost it in Hurricane Katrina, and as I recall it had the 3.5mm stereo plug, not the mono plug that the other one has. |

Not quite. Try here instead: http://www.glyff.net/software/prolin...cable-gre1.php The scanner is 5 volts, RS232 is 12 volts - something's missing. No, nothing is missing. Communication is one way, PC to radio. The radio has a level shifter circuit built in. Other radios with the same setup are the PRO-64, 76, 79, 82, 2016, 2017, and 2041. There are no Starrsoft programs for any of these radios and the cable mentioned on their website is not appropriate for these radios. |

Do you recall using a mono-stereo adapter with it? Nope, just plugged it straight into the scanner. |
