Default Backlight Problem, BCT-7

Was wondering if anybody has ever experienced, and fixed, a problem with the
backlighting on the Uniden BCT-7. I have 3 different units that experience
the same problem. Random backlighting. It works most of the time, but not
all of the time. It seems to be temperature sensitive. When the radio is
in a warm environment (in the house, in the car after the interior warms
up,etc.) the backlight stops working. Sometimes it flashes erratically,
almost like a loose or bad connection. I'm guessing possibly a bad solder
joint, or stressed solder joint that has cracked. I've yet to find the
problem area in any of the three units I have however...

Anybody ever fix this problem, or even have it happen to them at least?
Since all three of mine have the same problem, I'm guessing it's fairly
common, and someone should know what the most common culprit is...

Any help is appreciated!
THANKS!
