I went far forward from the bridge and clipped the 15 feet wire spool that comes with the Sony to a rigging. That gave me about 15 feet of vert. I got fabulous reception, with no QRM to speak of. We'll be taking a GPS too. Good idea about marking our location. I'll take along some wire with a few clips too and see if I can get some "vert". PS We are going far South - Antartica in December!
