I have an old (as in 1978) programme schedule for the External Service
of the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (back when they broadcast to
North America) which features a photo and message from "His Excellency
Al Hadji Field Marshall Dr. Idi Amin Dada V.C., D.S.O., MC. President of
the Republic of Uganda". I'm glad that I kept the programme schedule!

His full title, which was of course bestowed by himself was "His
Excellency President for Life, Field Marshal Al Hadji Doctor Idi Amin,
VC, DSO, MC, Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Sea,
and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in
Particular". I used to listen to Uganda in the 70's. Their interval
signal was the sound of African drums.
