OK so there was this eBay Auction for a old {Discontinued}
Radio Shack Inverted "V" Multi-Band Shortwave Antenna formerly RadioShack Catalog # 20-181 * 65 Feet overall length (32.5 ft each leg) * Multi-Band trap covers 60,49,41,31,25,21,19,16 and 11 Meters. * Installation instructions included in package Please Note - That this eBay Auction is CLOSED [OVER-ENDED] http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=160079232598 But it got me to thinking about Building-My-Own Inverted "V" Multi-Band Shortwave Antenna Build-Your-Own - Radio Shack Inverted "V" Multi-Band Shortwave Antenna http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Shortw.../message/12289 PARTS 1 - The center piece of this Antenna was a PL-259 T-Adapter RadioShack Catalog #: 278-198 http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2103320 This UHF M-358 T-Adapter connects Two SO-239 Jacks to One PL-259 Plug. 2 - Standard PL-259 UHF-Type Coaxial Connector (2-Pack) RadioShack Catalog #: 278-205 http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2103402 The Twin Five-Wire Multi-Elements-Antenna-Arms ended in PL-259 Plugs with all Five Wires Soldered to the Center Connector of the Plug for one-side and the other-side had all Five Wires Soldered to the Outer Housing of the Plug. Effectively wiring them through the T-Adapter as a Dipole. 3 - 100' Five Conductor [Flat] Antenna Rotor Cable Belden Part # 8463 = http://cgi.ebay.com/_W0QQitemZ330020555066 4 - 50-Ft. RG-58 Coax Cable Assembly for the Feed-in-Line RadioShack Catalog #: 278-971 http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2103483 CONSTRUCTION - Wire Antenna Element Construction : * First Cut the Rotor Cable in Two Halves 50-Feet Each * Strip and Tin the Wires at one end of each of the Halves and Solder them all to one each of the Two PL-259 Plugs as outlined above. At the Measured Lengths from the Plugs 'Cut' and Inch of the Wire from that one Element of the Five Wires in the Rotor Cable. AND - You 'wire' the other PL-259 Plug {Left-Side} with the 5-Wires soldered to the Outer {Shield} Housing. AND - You use the T-Adapter with a Coax Cable feed-in-line. THEN - You have 'wired' the Antenna Elements as a "Dipole". NOTE - A Multi-Element "Dipole" Antenna with each of the Five Sets {Pairs} of Inverted "V" Arms 'cut' {1/4 WL-5%} to a specific Shortwave Band 60M, 49M, 41M, 31M and 25M. hope that this clarifies the 'dipole' issue - iane ~ RHF {pomkia} .
