Default WJR not running IBOC?

There's no sign of IBOC today on WJR 760 Detroit. Did they give it up?

A local dropped it a while ago, also Clear Channel, so maybe it's
policy?

No, it is to replace some hardware. Many of us have changed transmitters to
better broadcast HD.

Maybe that explains what I've been hearing on WTAM lately. For the past
few nights, I've heard a weird warbling sound at times. Last night, it was
gone. Since WTAM is also a Clear Channel station, maybe that explains why
they sounded normal last night. I hope the sound stays away.

If it was after 6 PM, that is not, at least legally, IBOC/HD operation.

Better QRM? What a novel idea.

No, more robust HD exciter and better combiner design with the analog and
digital signals.

This was after 10:00 p.m. when I was listening to WTAM.

Probably not HD, as not in 6 AM to 6 PM or sunrise to sunset, whichever
gives more, legal period or in the experimental period. Clear is one of the
cleanest technical operators, so doubt a violation here.

HD Radio/IBOC is dead, dickhead.

There are now over 1200 stations on the air, representing nearly every
significant station in the top 100 markets.

The first year CD players were out, in the US less than 10,000 were sold.
