May, 2007 issue http://www.monitoringtimes.com/html/current_issue.html Exceptionally good issue reviews of 4 mid priced SW Receivers; the Grundig G4000A, Kaito 1103, Grundig G5, and the Sony ICF- SW7600GR. - article about SW Radio stations.. - including WBCQ, WCCR How to start your own Shortwave radio Station.. Very good Computers & radio section http://www.blackcatsystems.com/software/dxtoolbox.html In my opinion, the article about the four shortwave portables alone is worth the price of the magazine. The other articles are indeed superb as well. This magazine just keeps getting better and better. I think everyone here should at the very least buy a copy and seriously consider subscribing. (The same goes for POPULAR COMMUNICATIONS.) While the internet, including groups such as this one, is an excellent resource for hobby information, nothing thus far can totally replace the printed page, again in my opinion. If you're serious about your hobby, I think you should consider the fact that, without current and new information, you are essentially "flying blind." While that is certainly not earth-shattering (it IS just a hobby, after all), why not enjoy the hobby to the best advantage? Just my thoughts. Joe |
