I'm not saying that the U.S. embargo on Castro's Cuba is right or
wrong. But hell, there are over two hundred other countries in the world that Cuba can trade with and in fact is trading with many of them, including Europe and Canada, and the other Latin American countries. If Cuba is not getting medical supplies, it's not because the U.S. isn't sending them any. The U.S. is far from being the only source of medical supplies and food in the world. If I was Cuba, and the U.S. wasn't sending me something I needed, I would just go and deal with somebody else. How about Communist China, France, Canada, Germany, Spain, Venezuela, Columbia, Mexico, Argentina, India, Russia, Sweden, etc. etc. etc. etc.......................... or one of the other 190 + some odd countries in the world??? Don't go blaming the U.S. for Castro's own failures. Castro has had more than forty years to adjust his economy and make trade arrangements around the world. But, like every communist country that refuses to open up the country to some economic freedom, Cuba is a economic basket case. "Now is the time to push U.S. lawmakers for the truth about the medical embargo against Cuba." Ha, Ha, Ha!! Well, the Miami Herald could try telling the truth. Cato |
