How many more tragedies am I going to have to post before you contact
your Senator and Congressman to demand immediate action?

As I've pleaded repeatedly for IT'S TIME TO END THE INSANITY AND
CONFISCATE GUNS! Guns have no place in a civilized society. How many
more innocent people are going to have to die before this nation
finally wakes up and does the inevitable - BAN GUNS!!!

NEOSHO, Mo. - A gunman opened fire in the sanctuary of a southwest
Missouri church Sunday, killing three people and wounding several
others, a city spokeswoman said.

About 25 to 50 people were briefly held hostage at the First
Congregational Church until the gunman surrendered, Neosho spokeswoman
Desiree Bridges said.

Fewer than 10 people were also shot and wounded, Bridges said.

The shooter was being held at the Newton County Jail, but police were
not releasing any information about him.

Bridges said he was related to someone in the church, but declined to
elaborate.

Bridges said the shooter had three firearms, but wouldn't say what
type. The shooting followed the 1 p.m. service.

And if just one of those church people had been carrying a gun - this
would have been over a lot quicker and with a lot less loss of
life.!!!

In the area I live in, the mayor just ran a big gun collection. Got
loads of weapons. But there are still shootings and killings and the
gang's are still strong -- so who did the gun collection help??

The terms 'Semi-Automatic' and "Machine Pistol" are mutually
exclusive terms.

Actually so are "Machine" and "Pistol."

Semi-Automatic--for those not up to speed, means that one bullet is
fired every time the trigger is released, the cartridge casing is
ejected and a fresh cartridge chambered. In the context of a shoot,
there is no technical difference between the outcome of squeezing the
trigger on a revolver and a semi-auto.

One squeeze, one shot.

Nothing more.

To be a "Machine Gun," a weapon must fire fully automatically AND
must fire rifle cartridges. One squeeze and the weapons empties the
magazine of RIFLE cartridges.

The reason the Thompson Automatic (Eliot Ness's Tommy Gun) was
called a sub-machine gun, is because it fired pistol cartridges.
Specifically .45 ACP.

The only pistol of which I have experience firing a rifle bullet is
a Thompson Center Contender....which is single shot only.

Now, there are automatic pistols. Extremely hard to handle, and
virtually impossible to aim after the first cartridge is fired. But
those are not 'Machine Pistols.' And they are most certainly not
semi-automatic.

There were no "Machine Pistols" in the inventory taken after this
event.

The speaker is using the most inflammatory language to create fear
and motion in favor of an agenda.

It's the most reckless kind of yellow journalism.


The shooting itself is reprehensible enough. It does not require
embroidery.

It's interesting how the same people who screamed until there was a
statutory requirement for smoke alarms and fire extinguishers in every
home are the first to scream about banning firearms.

Consider...the reason for the smoke alarm is to warn the family early
enough to take meaningful action to save home, hearth and lives. The
reason for the fire extinguisher is to help contain damage while the
fire department is in route.

And yet, when an armed soul wanders into a building known to be
unarmed, the fault is on the authorities who didn't arrive in time?

That's bull****. If you're going to have a fire extinguisher in every
home to hold back the flames while the fire department is enroute, you'd
be irresponsible not to have an accessible weapon on the grounds to hold
off unimpeded killings while the SWAT team is enroute.

Having a weapon accessible and in play INSIDE when such an event
breaks out, does two things immediately....1) it diverts attention of
the gunmen from killing the unarmed and innocent, to taking cover and
focussing on those who are shooting at him, and 2) it presents the only
real and immediate opportunity to stop his activities at the earliest
moments possible.

Banning guns, as the a number of Chicago suburbs have discovered is
the only way to a guaranteed certaintly to boost armed home invasions.

And sadly, nationwide, school shootings.

One time over there at the ammo dump, a few miles North of the Tan Son
Nhut North Gate (www.devilfinder.com Map Tan Son Nhut) somebody
brought over some shootin irons I (and most of the other scrub nosed
guys over there) haden't ever laid hands on before.Machine Gun, Grease
Gun (my favorite, Grease Gun) and a few other shootin irons for us to
get familiar with.
