Default AM HD on the East Coast

This is so sad. AM radio is history here on the East Coast. I have
been a radio listener for years and tonight I can't believe what I'm
hearing. Good luck boys cause it's over.

RF Burns,

Is the Land of the Solid Digital Side-Band Hash.

The Terror of IBOC is Invading the AM/MW Radio Band.

Yes - I have Seen the Blinking Blue Light
and Ask Myself : What IBOC ?
All I See Is The Blinking Blue Light !

.

I must say, I listened on MW for a while last night and was really
shocked at the interference generated by IBOC. I expected it to be
bad, but holy crap...it pretty well eliminates everything except for a
few local powerhouses that I never listnened to anyway.

I'm considering getting one of those standalone internet "radios" for
casual listening. With at least some of them you don't need an actual
home network and can get by just fine with a simple USB wireless
adapter. It's depressing, but I suspect IBOC will be one of the best
things that ever happened to internet "radio".
