AFRTS Up to date
Current Shortwave High Frequencies
Shortwave service is provided by the Navy as an option for their ships without the Navy's Direct-to-Sailor (DTS) capability. Shortwave also serves as a backup to those customers with DTS. Shortwave service is also an option for land-based listeners in remote locations that do not have access to local or satellite-delivered AFRTS full Satellite Network (SATNET) services. Shortwave services are intended to operate 24/7 but do experience disruptions due to maintenance and atmospheric conditions. Location Band Daytime Nighttime Diego Garcia Upper Sideband 12,759 KHz 4,319 KHz Guam Upper Sideband 13,362 KHz 5,765 KHz Key West, Florida Upper Sideband 12,1335 KHz, 7812.5 KHz and 5,4465 KHz same as daytime Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Upper Sideband 10,320 KHz 6,350 KHz From AFRTS Homepage Burr Roy, I used my Sat 800 and long wire sloper "L" |
