The signal strength meter and speaker grill are reminiscent of the Sony ICF-6700W/6800W. The Grundig/Eton/Tecsun folks are clearly trying to appeal to our sense of nostalgia. Now, they just need to load the unit with vintage recordings of old Cold War-era propaganda broadcasts, ready for playback on demand... The real signal meter and rotatable AM antenna definitely harken back to classics like the RF2200. Wonder what the tuning resolution is. A $300 price tag will require more than good sounding audio. |
