Stoddard AT-205/URM6 Loop Antenna with Compass and SO-239 Connector {-: Looks Like It Is Built to Mil Spec :-} * http://cgi.ebay.com/_W0QQitemZ220199446066 * Looks to be about a Foot in Diameter {Small} * Appears to Weigh about 10 Pounds {Heavy} -attn- Terry / SWLer, This piece of RFI / EMI / EMC Gear may interest you in your un-ending pursuit of Low-Noise & No-Noise. ![]() -History- "The AT-205/URM-6 Loop Sensor described in http://www.solar-emc.com/pdf/CatalogComplete.pdf Test Method RE01 of MIL-STD-462 is one of the Antennas designed for use with the Navy AN/URM-6B and Stoddart NM-10A Receivers. These were the Low Frequency EMI Meters that, in 1948, initiated the emphasis on EMI by the military departments and created the Technical Discipline we now know as Electromagnetic Compatibility." For Everyone Else - This is impressive enough to . . . have setting around your Radio Shack as a 'gee golly' "Conversation Piece" ![]() NOTICE - BE ADVISED : This is NOT my eBay Auction and I am NOT Associated with the eBay Seller. |

TACO "Self-Selecting" Antenna System http://cgi.ebay.com/_W0QQitemZ250216871337 There is an Interesting Diagram {4th Picture} of the Antenna and Feed-in-Line arrangement - It appears to be : * 60 Foot Tip-to-Tip Dipole Antenna with a Center-Piece [ This Dipole Antenna would be roughly cut for ~7.8 MHz ] * 80 Feet of Twisted-Pair feed-in-line; connected to a * Dual Lightning Arrester and Grounding Block plus more * Twisted-Pair feed-in-line connected to a * Matching Transformer to connect to the * Radio / Receiver's [500 Ohm HI-Z] Twin Terminals My Guess is that the "Self-Selecting" part of the name is more Sizzle than Steak - any Other Ideas ? Note - "TACO" = Technical Appliance Corporaton located in Flushing New York, NY -circa- 1930s ? |
