![]() I would like to have a transceiver that can communicate on the short wave bands and is possible to be powered by battery powered systems. I would pay $ 500.00 and would need some manuals for the system. |

Licensing usually requires testing by an approved Radio association or Government agency. Responsible stores usually don't sell equipment to unlicensed operators. mike |

It isn't illegal (at least in the good ol' USA) for a store to sell a transceiver to an unlicensed individual. The individual might just wish to purchase it merely for the receiver side, and/or may be in the process of being licensed. dxAce Michigan USA |

www.rigpix.com AdI AR-147.I have one of those that I bought for $2.00
at the Goodwill store a few years ago.It was in a brown cardboard box that had been opened, no instrctions/ownrs/operators manual. The radio looks brand new, I don't know if anybody ever hooked it up before it wound up at the Goodwill store. www.shopgoodwill.com I haven't gotten around to hooking it up yet, if I ever do, I will check with some local Ham Radio Operators for help and advice. www.msham.org I realize it would need a proper balun and anteanna before I hook the radio up to a power supply, battery or whatever.I don't have a license, so I wouldn't transmit untill I got a proper license first. cuhulin |
