John,
I have heard you talk about that powerhouse of the middle east, and last night,April 11 around 10pm to 1am EDT, Hobe Sound, Florida, one mile from the ocean, this was literally booming in ! This is the first really transatlantic DX that I have every experienced. It lasted for a good thiry minutes, arabic chanting and mention of sharia. What power do the run? I am using my faithful DX-440 with the Terk, Am Advantate Loop, which is allowing me to grab some awesome AM catches. Your posts are very useful to the real listeners still here. Thank, Bob Grimes -- |

Hi Bob,
Yes, Saudi Arabia on 1521 khz is one of the most powerful MW sations on earth at 2000 Kw. Nice catch on only a DX-440 = well done, keep trying for others. I can regularly catch it barefoot on my Redsun RP2100/Kaito KA2100 here.
