Had a small earthquake here this morning. Apparently centered in Illinois, it
was felt at least 30 miles NE of my location. Just a bit of a rattle. Region: ILLINOIS Geographic coordinates: 38.520N, 87.872W Magnitude: 5.4 Mw Depth: 5 km Universal Time (UTC): 18 Apr 2008 09:36:56 Time near the Epicenter: 18 Apr 2008 03:36:56 Local standard time in your area: 18 Apr 2008 09:36:56 Location with respect to nearby cities: 12 km (7 miles) E (90 degrees) of West Salem, IL 14 km (8 miles) NE (53 degrees) of Bone Gap, IL 14 km (9 miles) W (266 degrees) of Allendale, IL 67 km (41 miles) NNW (335 degrees) of Evansville, IN 206 km (128 miles) E (93 degrees) of St. Louis, MO dxAce Michigan USA |

There's quite a bit of seismic activity downstate that originates with pressures bearing on the New Madrid fault. I didn't feel anything here. But that's probably why I'm still single. But thanks for the head's up. I'll check the seismograph at the Planetarium when I'm down there this weekend. |

I was watching local WLBT www.wlbt.com tv news this morning.They
showed a short video clip at an Evansville,Indiana tv station on there, that webcam of theirs was shaking just like, Shake it Baby, dont break it, Wrap it up and I will take it. The guy in Indiana said,,, Are we having an Earthquake! cuhulin |

Sompin like that, I have known of that website for years.About seven years ago, I saw a website about live online Earthquake counters, them thingys scrolling them lines on them graphs, whatever.New York City is sittin on top of at least one Earthquake Fault.A few years ago, somebody came into this very self same newsgroup and he/she/it/Bitch intimated I dont know what I am talking about. cuhulin |

It's so much that thingys are gettin ''antsy'' It's like this,,, (my

Yeah, I guess a long time ago that was a big one. Hard telling what it might do these days if it let loose with a major jolt. There's quite a bit of seismic activity downstate that originates with pressures bearing on the New Madrid fault. I didn't feel anything here. But that's probably why I'm still single. But thanks for the head's up. I'll check the seismograph at the Planetarium when I'm down there this weekend. |

I woked up early this mawnin, around 5:30 AM.Turned my Sony Trinitron
Wega CRT flat screen tv thingy on.Clicked on WLBT tv news.A few minutes later, they showed a short video with audio clip out of WFIE, Evansville,Indiana.The video was shakeing to beat the band! That Indiana guy said something like, Are we having an Earthquake? I haven't seen videos shake like that since Katrina. cuhulin |

There used to be an old raggity Kingsland Hotel at 6668 Delmar Street in
Saint Louis.I was there for a while in 1961, before I joined the Army in 1962.I remember a very mild shakeing at that old hotel in 1961.KMOX radio said it was an Earthquake. cuhulin |
