I believe the government should fund the **** out of medical research.

Letting the government be part of it is a sure way of not finding cures...
the government puts on so many restrictions that nothing gets done.

Good to see your post about donating in honor of Steve Goodman. He often doesn't get his due. You might be interested in my 800-page biography, "Steve Goodman: Facing the Music." The book delves deeply into how his leukemia and awareness of mortality crucially impacted his stellar music.

You can find out more at my Internet site (below). Amazingly, the book's first printing sold out in just eight months, all 5,000 copies, and a second printing of 5,000 is available now. The second printing includes hundreds of little updates and additions, including 30 more photos for a total of 575. To order a second-printing copy, see the "online store" page of my site. Just trying to spread word about the book. Feel free to do the same!

Man, they're coming out of the wood work...

*MY* 1200 page book, The Ace, Goodman and Me: Farcing the Music, is due
out next month.

The book is an in depth study concerning Steve Goodman's drunken
associates in Holland MI. and their on going battle with alcohol and
substance abuse. It's a heartbreaking story of hopelessness, ineptitude
and stupidity..sure to delight all ages.

Her virtues have nothing to do with anyone here and that is as it should
be. Whatever donations I may or may not have made in her name are also
no one's business but mine. We aren't on this earth to get points from
advertising our good deeds.

I hate retards who try to get mileage from the passing of anyone with
talent. It's like they want a chunk of the greatness of the deceased by
being associated with them in even the slightest way.

If it isn't a piece of fame, then they are after money. The world is
full of the "Hey, it's too bad about XXXXXX, he was sure under
appreciated, but have you seen my book/tape/cd/pictures?"

If these pricks actually liked the dearly departed, they'd be giving the
books away at cost AND making anonymous donations instead of advertising
it all over globe.

I'm sure Hell has a special place for these leeches and hangers on.
Sadly, there's never any shortage of the wanna-bees riding the coattails
of the talented, whether alive or dead. It's a lot harder to shake the
barnacles after you're dead, though.

With your permission, this will be the last posting I make on this topic.

Good, because my original intent was certainly not to draw attention to myself,
only to tell others about the effort.

I then offered a challenge to others to try to make a difference.

I failed, and for that I feel bad.

I'm truly sorry If I offended you or others.
