Hello John,
I am looking at both of these radios and they seem to be identical. CC Crane has the one year warranty, and the Redsun comes from Chinese distributors with BIG shipping charges! I know that you have one of the 2100's. How is it on the MW band? I find myself listening exclusively to the BCB. This radio has both a 10kc/9kc switch for DX'ing the European stations. I value your opinion. Thanks, Bob Grimes -- |

Hi Bob,
The RP2100 is quite the nicest and most used portable I have ever owned and that's lots of them. I bought mine from Tquchina on eBay and he has sold thousands with a 100% positive feedback = his service is fantastic. A Kaito KA2100 is also available in the States if you shop around a bit = do some searching. The RP2100 is just fantastic on the AM BCB MW reception - see my review at: http://www.dxing.info/community/view...hp?f=16&t=2434 Good luck John Plimmer, Montagu, Western Cape Province, South Africa South 33 d 47 m 32 s, East 20 d 07 m 32 s Icom IC-7700, Icom IC-756 PRO III with MW mods Drake SW8. I'm sure the twin coil ferrite built into the CCRadioSW helped that radio, but that antenna is NOT large. The CCRadio STILL is more sensitive. I use the Terk AM Loop to help out the CCRadio and the CCRadioSW. Of course it depends on the frequency as to whether or not it helps much. But no matter what, the CCRadio still beats the CCRadioSW on the MW band. I've also compared the CCRadio with the GE Superadio III and the Panasonic RF-2200 and the CCRadio beats them both on sensitivity. |
