Possession charges
On 4 January 2007, Strom was arrested in Greene County, Virginia on charges
of possession of child pornography and witness tampering.[21] The Grand Jury
later added the charges of receiving child pornography and of seeking to
coerce a 10-year-old sexually. At the October 2007 federal trial on charges
of sexually coercing a 10-year old girl, and of witness intimidation, the
judge threw out both charges due to lack of evidence of actual coercion.[22]

At the plea hearing on 14 January 2008, Strom pled guilty to possessing ten
computer images of child pornography and was held at
Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail while awaiting sentencing.[23] On 21
April 2008 he was sentenced to 23 months of incarceration, with credit for
times served, and 15 years of supervised release.[4]
