Default SWL'ers can still get a call sign!

Shortwave listening is not dead! In fact, enthusiasts can still obtain
a registered shortwave listener's identifier for their radio shack and
QSL cards, like Popular Electronics magazine used to provide.

For a one time registration fee of only $3.00, you can get a life-time
assigned call sign, a handsome certificate for the wall in your radio
shack, and a personal SWL Webpage for posting and sharing your SWL
information, photos, and loggings.

I seem to recall that PE made you swear that you had confirmed at
least five stations, one of which had to be outside the US.

Electronics Illustrated also issued some certificates which I still have, but
alas, I no longer have my WPE certificate.
