Default How About Rope and Lampposts Made In America?

Gosh what profiles in courage! Now come election time they can tell
the lemmings back home what tenacious defenders of American industry
they have been. I haven't been more proud to be an American since the
"Shrub" displayed his exemplary leadership skills the day after 9-1-1
by telling Americans to "go shopping" - a real goose pimply moment in
American history!

Congress can't halt the flow of Chinese-made flags, but lawmakers can
try to control where they are flown. The House declared Monday that
any flag flown on federal property should be made in the U.S.A.

The Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, wanted to force
the government to buy only American-made flags. "But we were told that
this mandatory stuff runs into trade agreements," the eight-term
congressman said.

That is because the U.S. has gone to great pains to hammer out trade
deals with other countries and can't impose new limits after the fact.

His solution was a nonbinding "sense of Congress" resolution that
cleared the House on Monday. It doesn't have any teeth, he admitted.

By the by, America’s trade deficit with China last year was US$260
billion, an 11.4% increase over 2006 and up 60% in just three years.
