15720 - 2244 UTC - R. New Zealand Int'l, Rangitaiki, New Zealand -
(EE) - sio:454 - M & W discussing new book on history of cooking in New Zealand written by an archeological scholar. Very good, stronger than in most evenings. - (Sony ICF-7600G w/ 25' reel - Bryant, KY, US - Sept 9) 15505 - 2235 UTC - CRI, Bamako, Mali - (Mandarin) - sio:242 - M & W w/ alternating talk. Weak, initially, but up to sio-343 by 2250 UTC. Targeted to West Africa. - (Sony ICF-7600G w/ 25' reel - Bryant, KY, US - Sept 9) 15190 - 2222 UTC - R. Africa, Bata, Equatorial Guinea - (EE) - sio: 343+ - Pre-recorded religious pgm w/ preaching in EE by M. Generally, the sermon was on the need to trust what the Bible says about God, but some of the individual lines were pretty amazing: "Don't let the voices in your head crucify the word of God," "Don't ask questions of yourself!" "Tell the voices in your head to go to Hell!" This guy was better than Bro. Stair. Decent signal, 100% readable, though modulation was kind of tinny-sounding. Preached right through the bottom of the hour until 2252 UTC, one gospel vocal song, then silence after 2255 UTC, despite open carrier. - (Sony ICF-7600G w/ 25' reel - Bryant, KY, US - Sept 9) 13630 - 2218 UTC - R. Australia, Shepparton, Australia - (EE) - sio: 333 - M discussing expenditures on Australian education. Understandable, but plagued by local RFI. //15515 weaker. - (Sony ICF-7600G w/ 25' reel - Bryant, KY, US - Sept 9) |
