Default Hurricane Ike # Category 2

Hurricane Ike is a Category 2 storm with winds that are near 105
mph and some strengthening is forecast in the next 24 hours. Ike will strike the
Texas coast early Saturday morning.

That number is misleading. Ike is worse than Katrina in destructive
potential, due to exceptionally wide wind field causing major wave
action. The surge could go halfway to Houston.

Ike is a big storm.Here in Jackson it is mostly cloudy and a little bit
breezy at times.Ike could get stronger and faster wind speeds.Sort of
like an ice skater holding his/her arms down and spinning around faster
and faster.
