Reception of group leader located in Long Island, New York is loud and
clear on the wintry plains of the midwest. Copy of other net
participants hit and miss depending on their QTH.

How many of you are ham operators? How about checking into the Liberty
Net? It would be interesting to be able to connect a voice with your
postings.

I would no more participate in the LN, as attend meetings of the local
Nazis. Not much difference, as far as I could ever tell.

The Liberty Net is nothing more that a weekly gathering of dottering
old Goldwater Conservatives, 80's and 90's Militialoons, screwball Ron
Paul supporters and a smattering of anti-catholic religious nutcases.
Back in the 70's and early 80's it was a somewhat respectable net, one
of the few where politics was discussed in the open in an almost
country club like atmosphere. a genuine white collar Republican 'old
boy's club' on the air if you will. Sadly many of the original members
have long since been planted in Happy Trails Cemetary, and in came the
kooks, freaks, weirdoes and religious nutcases which turned the "Great
Liberty Net" into what it is today, a mix not unlike a can of Dinty-
Moore beef stew, not much beef but plenty of vegtables and gravy
loaded with salt and other 'non-kosher' meat fillers. A mix of bizarro
viepoints much like a day's worth of programming on WWCR or WWRB
shortwave. Poor old Vic the NCS is the only genuine Goldwarer
Republican standout, but with today's grade of checkins he sounds more
like a substitute teacher presiding over a classroom full of 5th
graders. Oh well. Such is ham radio in 2008. Just a few steps below
Coast to Coast AM with George "Snorey".
