Default Eduardo - the blood-letting has started at Clear Channel!

Thousands being let-go, as CCU hides the news under Obama's election.
CCU and the rest of terrestrial radio is dying, with ad revenues down
now 50%. Next, they will pull the plug on IBOC, with not ROI afters
years of poorly-made investments! IBOC only served to line the pockets
of those iBiquity scammers! iBiquity started the layoffs, and now owes
$300,000 to the State of Md.!

From radio-info.com

The news continues to trickle in about Clear Channel cuts. In
programming, R. Dub, PD of Urban AC KHHT “Hot 92.3” Los Angeles, is
out … Jamillah Muhammad, PD of Urban AC WMXD Detroit, has left the
building … On air personalities confirmed out include Lisa Thomas,
long-time midday lady on Hot AC KDMX “Mix 102.9” Dallas, and top 40
WIOQ “Q102” Philadelphia morning co-host Diego Ramos … In Washington,
D.C., Radio-Info hears that a general sales manager and four local
sales managers were fired, along with many account executives .. In
Greenville-Spartanburg, SC, there’s a report that 16 people were
riffed this morning .. And in Columbus, Ohio, WTVN producer and host
Ben Johnson

More than sales staffers are reportedly gone in Louisville, including
two who'd been sellers for more than 20 years. There’s a report in to
Radio-Info out of Orlando, that perhaps 30 sales-related people are
gone from the cluster there. And in Washington, D.C., DCRTV.com
reports that four local sales managers and one GSM are victims of the
corporate-ordered cutbacks today, along with many account executives.

In Minneapolis, programmer Mary Gallas is gone at country “K102” KEEY
… in Madison, Wisconsin, PD Tyler Reese is out at WMAD … In Atlanta –
Along with WGST-AM (640) PD Randall Bloomquist, Imaging Director Adam
Schneider was also cut loose … In Washington, DC, DCRTV.com says WWDC-
FM (101.1) GSM Collin Campbell & WMZQ-FM (98.7) morning show producer
Bryce Johnson exit … In New York City, Radio-Info is told that Total
Traffic producer Brian DeMasi was cut loose … Fort Myers, Florida
cluster OM Louis Kaplan was handed a pink slip … And at CC-owned
Premiere Prep, New York-based producer Elle Castro is out.

You get the idea.. more cuts to follow
Flip the switch and let the syndicated programmers rule the world..
I guess the largest radio group won’t be pouring more resources into
HD..
Expect the same strategies from the clones of Clear Channel and the
idiots across the street.
It's another sad day for radio. Who knew there's more mean left on the
bone to scrap off..

It's the economy, stupid.

Radio is not off 50%... in fact, it is off far less than the stock market
is.

Today the Dow was off over 4%, the NASDAQ 6%. Circuit City closed and left
34,000 people jobless. Yet you worry about a reduction at Clear Channel with
less than 2000 let go.

BIA: Radio Revenues to Continue Decline in 2009
Dec 2, 2008 11:50 AM

Chantilly, VA - Dec 2, 2008 - By the end of 2008 the radio industry
will have experienced its second year of station revenue losses to -7
percent, according to the estimates of BIA Advisory Services. BIA's
fourth edition of the quarterly Investing In Radio Market Report also
states that 641 stations have been sold in transactions valued at $698
million from January through October 2008, which is a -34 percent
change from the same period in 2007 in the number of stations sold and
a -44 percent in the value. When the year ends, this will be the
lowest level since 1992.

BIA estimates radio station revenues will hit $16.7 billion in 2008,
the lowest in more than five years and the beginning of a downward
spiral that will go as low as $15 billion next year before possibly
rebounding in the next decade. Investing In Radio Market Report
predicts that revenue percentages will fall to -10 percent in 2009,
but there is a chance for positive growth by 2010.

More information is included in the fourth edition of the Investing In
Radio Market Report published by BIA, which profiles all 299 radio
markets.

"Revenue Falls 20 Percent In November"

"November showed the worst revenue numbers in a long, down year, the

2007... The November dropoff follows reports that grand-total revenue

No, you moron, that is an average of 11% for the three month period.
Overall, '08 was off 7% with about 13% projected for 2009.

So, over the two years, compared to 2007, the decline would be about 19% for
the 24 months.
