I live in Vancouver, Washington and I enjoy mediumwave and shortwave.
My favorite mediumwave stations are 1190 KEX and 910 KTRO. My favorite shortwave stations are Radio Australia and the BBC. |

Welcome. I live in the SE coast of the US. If you get the chance, we
(okay well me) would like to see some of your DX logs from that area. How does 3145/3185/3215 come in around that area???? What kind of radio do you use? The only time I get Radio Australia in with any sort of good reception is in the early AM like 0800 utc... and as summer is coming here, it probably will totally disappear from the east coast of the US. Again, welcome to rec.radio.shortwave, we need some good posters here. |

I believe, though I haven't done the map work, that WWL is the furthest station I have received on a stock radio, though KMOX in St. Louis and KSTP in Minneapolis/St. Paul may be further from Portland. I've copied lots of border blasters from there, along with many Texas and Oklahoma stations, plus KTNN in Window Rock, AZ, a bunch of Canadians in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan, stations in Butte, Billings, Helena, and Great Falls, MT, Casper, WY, Denver, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, Reno and Las Vegas, NV, Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Fresno and Chico, CA (most of these last are nightly catches). Daytime "DX" has been heard from Boise, ID (about 400 miles- then KFXD-580), Richland, WA (about 300 miles) and "local" from Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Vancouver, BC, and Roseburg and Medford, OR (about 200 miles). |
