The VOA English relay via Botswana on 9,885 kHz, 0300-0430z was a
potent signal here on the U.S. West Coast on 15 March 2010. SINPO = 44534. 100% easy copy. Slight adjacent channel utility QRM, but no biggie. At changeover to Madagascar at 0430z, signal dropped precipitously. Audio there but 10% copy at that point. Bruce Jensen (California, United States) |

Bruce Jensen (California, United States) This same broadcast tonight was excellent copy, starting a little rough at 0300 but becoming easy armchair by 0345, thereafter excellent with only occasional utility QRM on the lower side (USB wiped it clean). Even after the 0430 switch to Madagascar, the signal was still quite readable if not powerful - propagation and noise was bordering on excellent, and Mad was much better than last night. I did a Botswana reception report, and would have done a Madagascar report except my scribbling hand got tired. Bruce |
