Nice of you to offer, but be careful fixing stuff like that by "remote control". If the owner *is* knowledgeable, he doesn't need your remote help; if the owner is NOT knowledgeable, he damn well shouldn't be poking around inside the radio. Lethal voltages inside, ya know. Just my 2 cents... We had a Viking Valiant at KDIL back in 1971. We added a couple turns to a coil and got the VFO to light up on 1600 kHz. Made it from PHX to LAX at night, loudest station on the dial. I suggest your friends learn all about rebuilding transformers. |
